Antarctica Day 3:

Charlotte Bay and Culverville Island

In the morning, we visited Charlotte's Bay.

There were some stunning iceberg formations.

We didn't make it all the way in due to fog and weather, but did see one glacier.

Later that day, we reached Cuverville Island. Smaller ships are allowed to send zodiacs so travelers can explore this island. However, as a larger ship we viewed from the bow and our verandah. It was cloudy when we first arrived, but had cleared by the time we left.

The main attraction of the island is the large Gentoo colony on the island.

The weather was much nicer by the time we left and made our way to Paradise Bay.

We were fortunate to see some humpback whales near Paradise Bay although we weren't able to enter the bay all the way.

There were also some porpoising penguins.

The scenery was beautiful as well.
