We walked around the town of Cambridge Bay today. We started at the waterfront with its most well-know sculpture of the metal muskox. Made of recycled and repurposed materials, this sculpture symbolizes the resilience of the community of Cambridge Bay. A raven sculpture can be seen behind it.

Nearby but closer to the beach were two metal sculptures of wolves.

We next went to the Arctic Coast Visitor's Center and admired the Inuit art such as this whale bone sculpture.

and this model of a traditional campsite.

From there we walked to the Canadian High Arctic Research Station which specializes in research related to the Arctic including a comprehensive DNA analysis program, environmental monitoring, water conservation, and research on the permafrost. It is a new, state of the art facility with impressive technology to support this research. The building is beautiful and has integrated indigenous art throughout.
We then went to a pond to look for birds. I hadn't brought my longer lens, but did get some shots of Canadian geese.
We then walked back to the waterfront to return to the ship.
