Paris, France - Louvre - draft

April 1, 2026

Today we had a tour of the Louvre. We had initially had a 3 hour tour with Project Expedition, but they cancelled on us. Since it was last minute, we were only able to do a 1 hour tour through the hotel. It was very rushed which was disappointing, but was happy to be able to see the museum.

We met the guide at a meeting place. We entered the Louvre area through a covered hall which gave good cover from the rain. We waited there a bit until closer to our meeting time.

The hall led to the courtyard with the Pyramid entrance surrounded by the ancient museum, once palace to the French kings.

Our meeting point was across the street under the statue to the right of the arch.

We entered through the pyramid.

We passed by some of the medieval ramparts until we reached the artwork in the museum.

Here are some pictures of art we saw. Will fill in later with more information.

The tour covered these 3 main pieces of art.

The Venus de Milo.

Winged Victory of Samothrace

The Mona Lisa

When exploring on our own, we saw many other beautiful works of art, although we were able to only see a tiny fraction of the art within the museum.
