Heading to the Winelands

After saying farewell to Amakhala, we began our journey to the Winelands of South Africa, in particular the town of Stellenbosch where we stayed at a beautiful wine estate at Molenvliet Vineyards. This is the view from the balcony of our room.

We began the journey by heading to the Port Elizabeth airport and flying to Capetown.

We then hopped in a van and began the journey to Stellenbosch. As we drove out of Capetown, there were many large green spaces where people played soccer and other games.

We also passed by the townships where many of the poorer people in Cape Town live. Our driver said that the government does provide better housing for them, but some choose to rent out those houses for extra income and stay in the township. We also passed by several "Foodies" where farmers can sell their produce and the Cape Town Film Studios which has hosted the production of movies such as Tomb Raider, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Maze Runner: Death Cure, as well as series like Doctor Who, The Borrowers, and Black Sails.

We knew we were getting close to Stellenbosch as the mountains grew closer.

Soon we were at the Montvliet Wine Estate.

After a very short time to settle into our room, we headed out to dinner at a local restaurant.
